I read this passage in my One Year Bible yesterday, and this morning I made it into a prayer. Pray this prayer if you or your family faces an active, ongoing assault from witchcraft or voodoo.  Pray the Word!  It comes from Isaiah 26, and allusions to other scriptures are also included.  Please note:  This prayer does not refer to witchcraft or voodoo.  It is about a time when Judah follows God and sings this as a song of celebration; however, I have adapted its content to use in this prayer.

Our city (FAMILY) is strong!

1 We are (OUR FAMILY IS) surrounded by the walls of God’s salvation.

2 Open the gates to all who are righteous (TO ALL IN OUR FAMILY WHO FOLLOW YOU); allow the faithful to enter. WICKEDNESS AND GODLESSNESS ARE NOT ALLOWED HERE. FEAR IS NOT PERMITTED ENTRANCE!

3 You will keep (OUR FAMILY) in perfect peace all who trust in you (AS WE ALL TRUST IN YOU), all whose thoughts are fixed on you (AS WE ALL FIX OUR THOUGHTS ON YOU)! GIVE US THE MIND OF CHRIST! GRANT US THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM, REVELATION AND UNDERSTANDING. MAY YOUR THOUGHTS BE OUR THOUGHTS, AND YOUR WAYS BE OUR WAYS.

4 (WE) Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the (OUR) eternal Rock. YOU HAVE NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF FEAR. YOUR PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT OUR FEAR!

5 He humbles the proud (WHO STAND AGAINST OUR FAMILY) and brings down the arrogant city (THE INDIVIDUALS AND DEMONS BEHIND THEM). He brings it (THEM) down to the dust. MAY THEY BE HUMBLED, O LORD. MAY EVERY SPELL, CURSE, VOW AND OATH SPOKEN OVER US RETURN TO WHERE IT CAME. THE POWERS OF WITCHCRAFT AND VOODOO DO NOT STAND AGAINST US, FOR THEY ARE UNDER OUR FEET! MAY THOSE SPEAKING THE EVIL WORDS BE HUMBLED BY THEIR LACK OF TRUE POWER, AND MAY THEY IN HUMILITY AND REPENTANCE TURN TO THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD!

7 But for those who are righteous (FOR OUR FAMILY WHO TRUST IN YOU), the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them (US). YOU MAKE WAYS WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY. AS WE ACKNOWLEDGE YOU IN ALL OUR WAYS, YOU DIRECT OUR PATHS. YOUR WORD, IT IS A LIGHT UNTO OUR PATH.

8 LORD, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. BE GLORIFIED IN US! BE GLORIFIED THROUGH US! BE GLORIFIED!

9 All night long I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek for God. For only when you come to judge the earth (THOSE IN OUR FAMILY WHO DO NOT YET KNOW) will people (THOSE WHO DO NOT YET KNOW YOU) learn what is right. BRING YOUR CONVICTION TO THEM, O LORD! DRAW THEM TO YOURSELF! REVEAL YOURSELF TO THEM! WE SPEAK DELIVERANCE OVER THEM. MAY THEIR BLIND EYES BE OPENED. MAY DECEPTION BE BROKEN. WE SPEAK SPEAK SALVATION OVER THEM, IN JESUS’ NAME!

12 LORD, you will grant us peace! WE RECEIVE YOUR IRRATIONAL PEACE. WE WILL NOT WALK IN FEAR OR TIMIDITY. IN YOU WE HAVE OUR CONFIDENCE. IN YOU WE ARE STRONG. IN YOU WE HAVE THE VICTORY OVER ALL DARKNESS. IN YOU, O LORD. IN YOU!
