Heard of the G.I. –> G.O. principle? (Garbage In –> Garbage Out)
Each time we put something into our minds and hearts via music, media, reading, etc., it’s like buying groceries and putting them away at home. When it’s time to eat, we can only make our meal with the ingredients found in the cupboards. If all I bought at the store was brownies, candy and chips, I would have a hard time finding anything healthy to bring out of the cupboards to serve my family for dinner. I can only take out of the cupboard what I put into the cupboard.
“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” (Jesus in Luke 6:45)
So today let’s ask ourselves, what are we putting into our minds and hearts? What comes out of our mouths and behaviors will smell and taste like what we have been putting in there. Does my life look more like Garbage In –> Garbage Out? Or God In –> God Out?
Lord, fill me with your presence, your glory, your character and your Holy Spirit. And may the aroma of Christ be what others find when they meet me. Amen.
Amen!
